The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has just announced the nominees for its Class of 2025.
Among the first-time nominees are Bad Company, the Black Crowes, Joe Cocker, and Billy Idol. They are joined by fellow newcomers Chubby Checker, Mexican pop-rockers Maná, hip-hop duo OutKast, and jam band Phish.
The full list of 14 nominees also includes six artists who have been nominated in previous years but have yet to be inducted. Mariah Carey and Oasis were both on last year’s ballot, while Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, the White Stripes, and Soundgarden (also nominated in 2020) were last considered in 2023.
In 2024, the Rock Hall inducted Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, Ozzy Osbourne, and A Tribe Called Quest as performers.
